These charcoal drawings were part of my Basic Drawing class — yes, this is the work that made me enjoy my dreaded four-hour Monday night class. I started by roughly sketching out the still life scene before refining my final piece. This process taught me how to properly proportion objects, as well as how to develop a keen eye for light and shadows. The textured landscape drawing was inspired by a photo of my farm, where I had the creative freedom to experiment with frottage from different textures and surfaces.
